Injectable Fillers

As you age, spend time in the sun, or experience stress, your skin ages and wrinkles. This is a complex process that is a combination of many factors including cellular changes, collagen depletion, hormone loss, and damage caused by free radicals. In most cases, you’ll notice the appearance of lines between your brows (glabella lines), lines on your forehead (frontallis), around your eyes (crows feet), and around your mouth. To reduce the appearance of these lines and to smooth away unwanted wrinkles while restoring natural contours, we offer injectables.

Injectables, including Botox, Juvéderm, and Radiesse are a specialty of Midwest Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Each of these injectables provides a non-surgical form of treatment to help you appear younger and refreshed. We also carry Latisse and SkinMedica® products!

Injectable Fillers

Injectable fillers such as Juvéderm, Juvaderm Voluma, Belotero and Perlane can refresh your face and give you more youthful and rested look. Most are Hyaluronic acid-based fillers, which is a natural component of your tissue. They add volume, usually by filling in wrinkles and lines, and sometimes by plumping up areas of the face that have lost fat pads (such as the cheeks, under-eye area, and temples). Injectable fillers can also enhance the fullness of your lips.

Common areas treated with filler include nasiolabial fold “smile line” (from the root of the nose to angle of mouth), marionette lines, flat or thin lips, forehead wrinkles and sunken cheeks.

Botox

Botox®/Xeomin is a temporary solution, which relaxes facial muscles to reduce wrinkles and fine lines on your face which develop as a part of the aging process. This procedure is most effective on wrinkles that have not quite ironed into your skin—referred to as dynamic wrinkles—and appear when you move the muscles of your face. Wrinkles such as crows feet, worry lines, and laugh lines can all be a thing of the past with Botox. Botox®/Xeomin is injected into the tiny facial muscles that create these wrinkles, relaxing the muscle to reduce your age lines, taking the years away. 

Radiesse

Radiesse is in the category of injectable dermal fillers known as hydroxyl appetite fillers. It’s excellent for shaping the upper cheek, the lower cheek and jaw line as well as shaping the nose (divots, surgical correction). It is not, however, recommended for lips. Radiesse is considered semi-permanent and commonly lasts from 18-24 months.
